Big Bang (2020-22)

Big Bang is a series of work that I started near the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, an event that exploded the social fabric around us. In the wake of this chaos, the internet kept us joined to each other, albeit tenuously over painfully inadequate network connections. Channeling my experience of this precarious time, I took photographs of glitching pixels on a computer monitor, recomposed and printed the images, and folded them into frenetically patterned wall sculptures. This procedure calls to mind the isolation and monotony of the lockdown, as well as the pervasiveness of the technology that now serves as our main lens on reality.
